About Mosaic
The Mosaic woman is accomplished, strong and warm, yet understated. She is the multi-tasking mother, wife, sister and daughter who wants a versatile wardrobe that will take her from work to almost any occasion.
The Mosaic collection aims to reflect what it means to be a Mosaic woman - balanced and self-assured. Garments are easy-care, easy to wear, well priced and ‘classic with a twist’.
Recognising the demands of women who are busy, the collection has a focus on ‘wardrobe builder’ pieces with layers that can be added and subtracted as the day’s activities demand. Most garments can be worn individually or combined to make simple and comfortable outfits and are designed to ensure they last more than a fleeting season.
Mosaic is one of four brands from High Society, a New Zealand based fashion company with a 40 year history. Others include Obi, Catalyst and Chocolat.
DESIGNER
Kat is the latest addition to the design team, joining High Society in 2008 as the Mosaic designer. Kat graduated in Fashion Design from Wellington Polytechnic in 1996, having been a finalist in the Smoke Free Fashion Awards 1996, NZ Wearable Arts Awards 1995, 1996 and Wools of NZ Young Designer Awards in 1995. With a passion for the performing arts and film costume, Kat immersed herself in the arts for 5 years before stepping into mainstream apparel, in 2001. More recently she was a finalist in the Trash to Fashion Awards 2002.
Drawing upon the aesthetics of vintage clothing, popular culture, graphic art, public art and installation - and combining these with inspiration derived from the structures and patterns of nature - Kat delivers collections combining individuality and appropriateness. Clean, crisp, tailored lines that maintain wearability.
